Hip-roof framing previews include rafters and connection details
Published on
Parametric hip-roof framing brings rafters, plates, bearing cuts, and connectors into a visible assembly.
Sawdust’s parametric hip-roof procedure generates common, hip, and jack rafters from its inputs. The framing can be inspected in the project before you commit the procedure.
Corrections to the model bring the double top plates, bearing cuts, and hurricane-tie seating into agreement, with connector dimensions represented in the correct units. Inspect individual members and their bearing surfaces when reviewing the generated frame.

Did you know you can ask your agent to make anything a reusable, parametric procedure? You can see the existing procedures on the Procedures tab. You can share your procedures with the community or keep them private to your project. There is also a human authoring mode if you like to code the old fashioned way.
For instructions, see How to preview a parametric assembly before adding it, How to inspect a woodworking part from useful views.
