Sawdust on your phone, and the knowledge base

Published on

Open projects, inspect parts, step through cuts, and talk to your assistant on a phone screen, plus a new woodworking knowledge base and full-text RSS feed.

You can now use the Sawdust workshop on a phone when you are standing at the bench or in the lumber aisle. The 3D scene stays in the upper half of the screen, and a bottom sheet switches between Tools, Inspector, Steps, and Chat without covering your work.

Built for one-handed shop checks

The top bar fits into two compact rows on narrow screens, and the bottom sheet expands when you need to read cut dimensions or talk to the assistant, then tucks back down to a single bar when you want to orbit the model. If you switch tabs while typing a message to the assistant, your draft stays in the box when you return.

The Publish, Video, and Camera views also stack cleanly on portrait screens, so you can check a shared build guide, scrub through a film timeline, or snap a detail photo straight from your phone.

The knowledge base and full-text RSS

Guides and reference articles now live at https://sawdust.diy/knowledge-base. Articles are organized by topic with breadcrumbs, a section outline on the side, and related guides and product updates linked at the bottom.

If you follow What's New in an RSS reader, https://sawdust.diy/whats-new/rss.xml now includes the full text and images of every post instead of a short summary.
