How to build one: Miter sled

A miter sled's two fences form a V at 45 degrees to the blade. Mitering one end of a piece on each fence makes any small error cancel, so the corners close at 90 degrees.

Transcript

0:03 The fences form a V pointed at the blade. Hold the board on the left fence, its end at that stop ten inches out, and push it through.

0:18 Turn the board end for end and miter it on the right fence, its stop at eight and a half. One end on each fence closes a frame square.
