Connect Sawdust to Cursor

Published on

Add https://sawdust.diy/mcp to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and approve Cursor on the Sawdust OAuth consent screen.

Cursor connects to remote MCP servers over streamable HTTP and handles OAuth sign-in in your browser. Adding Sawdust lets Cursor's agent read and edit your woodworking projects and saved procedures.

1. Add Sawdust to Cursor's MCP configuration

In Cursor, open Settings -> Tools & Integrations -> New MCP server (or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json directly) and add sawdust under mcpServers:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sawdust": {
      "url": "https://sawdust.diy/mcp"
    }
  }
}
Sawdust Your AI agent dialog showing the Cursor mcpServers snippet and https://sawdust.diy/mcp URL.

2. Click Connect and approve in your browser

Save mcp.json and return to Cursor's Tools & Integrations panel. Click Connect (or Needs login) next to sawdust, then click Approve on the Sawdust consent screen that opens in your browser.

3. Manage or disconnect

Once connected, Cursor shows a green status indicator next to sawdust and makes Sawdust's tools available in Agent mode. You can revoke the grant anytime from Settings -> Connected assistants in Sawdust.
