How to make a short tour of your woodworking design

Published on

Create a vertical or horizontal Build Tour in Publish -> Video to showcase your finished woodworking design from its best angles.

While a Build Guide explains every saw cut and assembly step, a Build Tour is a concise showcase of the finished piece. Use a Build Tour to introduce your project at the top of a shared guide or to export a vertical 9:16 video for Shorts, Reels, or TikTok.

1. Choose Vertical or Horizontal and select Build Tour

Open Publish -> Video. If your project does not have a film yet, choose Vertical · 9:16 (or Horizontal · 16:9) in the Make a film card and click Build Tour.

Make a film chooser in Publish -> Video with Vertical 9:16 selected alongside Build Guide and Build Tour options.

2. Add a Build Tour alongside an existing Build Guide

A single project can hold multiple films. If you already created a step-by-step Build Guide, click + film in the top-left bar of the video editor to open the chooser and add a separate Build Tour without overwriting your guide.

Make a film chooser opened via + film, showing a Cancel button so you can add a second film to the project.

3. Reframe between 16:9 and 9:16 Shorts

You can preview any film in vertical Shorts · 9:16 format using the Format dropdown in the top bar. Click give it its own cut when you want to customize clip timing and framing specifically for vertical screens before clicking Export mp4.

Publish -> Video editor with Format set to Shorts 9:16 and the give it its own cut button visible in the top bar.
